The Power of Breath

“Doctor, will she ever wake up?” That was the question most often asked by the family of 53-year-old Ms. Li outside the hospital room. On October 8th, Ms. Li underwent craniotomy for a left basal ganglia hemorrhage and remained in a deep coma, dependent on a ventilator to breathe.
